Step Up 4 Christchurch Earthquake Appeal
Registration for the event has now closed but if you would like to come to support our participants and join in the festivities please come along anytime between 9:00 and 16:00.
Sunday 22 May – What is happening on the day
There will be plenty of kiwi food, drinks and entertainment on offer in the piazza area at the base of the building and we would love you to join in the fun any time between 9:00 and 16:00. Konditor & Cook will be serving breakfast and cakes from 8:00 and The Sterling will be lighting the BBQ at 11:30. Entertainment will take place throughout the day, which will include Maori performers, our various kiwi musicians and the spectacular Elysium III.
PLEASE NOTE – You will need to bring some form of identification to enter the building. This applies to participants and lift users.
Participants have been grouped into five waves and are advised to arrive 45 minutes before their start times:
Group 1 -- Competitive runners -- 9:15 registration, 10:00 start time
Group 2 -- Runners (1st group) -- 10:00 registration, 10:45 start time
Group 3 -- Runners (2nd group) -- 10:45 registration, 11:30 start time
Group 4 -- Walkers (1st group) -- 11:30 registration, 12:15 start time
Group 5 -- Walkers (2nd group) -- 12:15 registration, 13:00 start time

Lift users are welcome to take the lift any time between 9:30 and 14:00. There might be queues for the lift so please allow plenty of time.
Please be aware there will be security personnel carrying out security checks with a wand.

When a devastating earthquake hit Christchurch, New Zealand on 22 February 2011, it killed more than 180 people and injured thousands more, causing widespread destruction, destroying 10,000 homes and cutting off essential services. All proceeds from Step Up 4 Christchurch Appeal, including donations made on registering and sponsorship for participating, will go directly to the New Zealand Government Christchurch Appeal.
